Most of us would think that at the age of ninety-six, we’d be curled up at home with a nice cup of tea and a good book. Well that’s not the case with this Legionnaire and WW II veteran.

Besides being a WWII veteran, Agnes is a life member of both the Royal Canadian Legion and the Army Navy Air Force Veterans in Canada. She also holds the rank of “Honourary Captain” of the 2290 Royal Canadian Army Cadet Corps, British Columbia Regiment “101 Duke of Connaught’s Own Rifles” and for the last 36 years has been running the weekly canteen and fund raising for her beloved cadets at Beatty Street Armoury.

Agnes also participated in our 2016 Remembrance Day Ceremony and Parade held by Branch 179 at the Grandview Cenotaph on Commercial Drive.

The dedication and commitment this lady has shown over the years is inspiring and the fact she is still volunteering for campaigns such as the Poppy Fund is quite frankly amazing.
