It’s been a long haul since we announced the much needed renovation of our old downstairs bar back in may of 2016 so we are happy to announce our new facilities are complete and open for business.
During the renovation we remained open with the establishment of a temporary bar which was set up in the front left corner of the main room. Extra coolers were brought in and the staff did an excellent job of coping with the temporary set-up despite the fact it involved a lot of running back and forth to get things done. Great job to every one involved, we couldn’t have accomplished it without you.
Once the hording wall came down the finishing touches were completed and systems such as lottery terminals and TV screens were all moved back into place. We even added a second large screen TV to the main room so there won’t be a bad seat in the house to view the sports games.
We are also very pleased to announce the renovation and re-opening of our upstairs lounge. The lounge was originally opened back in the early 1970’s and remained in use by our members until it’s closer in the early eighties. Since then it has been used for a number of functions including being used as the club house for the Scribes Rugby Team.
One special feature of the lounge was the addition of windows which overlook the main bar down below. The windows can be open or closed allowing air flow for the lounge and better listening for the patrons when there is entertainment in the main room.
The lounge accommodates 39 seats and is open to our members and guests on Friday’s and Saturday’s at 5:PM. On other days the lounge will be available to members wishing to hold private functions. Come on down and see our new bar and lounge for yourself…. we are quite proud of them.
