AT 97 VETERAN AGNES KEEGAN STILL ENJOYS POPPY TAGGING

WW II Veteran Agnes Keegan Poppy Tagging at Park Place in Downtown Vancouver 2017

At 97 years old WW II Veteran Agnes Keegan still enjoys poppy tagging at a time when Legions are struggling to find volunteers from the younger crowds. Each year Agnes steps up and spends 4 hours a day tagging at various locations around Vancouver.

“I really enjoy the whole process” said Agnes in a recent interview. “I meet so many wonderful supportive people and get my picture taken with many of them”.

This year Agnes was tagging at Park Place and Commerce Place in downtown Vancouver and was thrilled with the live remembrance wreath that Park Place staff supplied this year.

As one of our small but dedicated group of taggers from Branch 179 she is hoping to boost this year’s campaign well into the $40,000 range and rest assured, she will be back at tagging again next year.
